Health and happiness"
Health building syndrome(我整個被這個標題深深吸引住了!)
Utopian idealism, or plain common sense? For centries, mankind has tried to deliver health and happiness through a combination of planned communities and social welfare initiatives...... It is not only possible to design places that are actively good for us, but the need to do so is now more urgent than ever.
A healthy environment and a healthy community are vital for the health, well-being and happiness of the individual. Neuroscience emphasises the importance of the very early years of childhood for the development of well-adjusted individuals with a predisposition towards health and well-being. The young child requires a close and stable relationship with the family, the community and the natural environment. A continuing close association with the natural environment enhances the health and well-being of individauls. It is also clear that a physically active lifestyle which such an environment promotes is conductive to health and well-being. It would seem that cities supporting such a lifestyle should be structured so that every home is close to open countryside, that is, within comfortable walking distance of it.
Pardon is the most glorious revenge.
Kaohsiung Medical University has been carrying out All Enblish Medical Teaching Program for more than one year. Needless to say, there have been different reflections and opinions among the students. As a medical prospective student, do you agree or disagree with such a program? Write a composition of about 200 words giving specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
As far as I am concerned, I do agree with the program and be willing to participate in the training. Definitely, there may be some negtive feedbacks from teachers or students; however, I believe that there are far more advantages. My arguments for this point are listed as follows.
First at all, English is the most common and universal language in the world. For many college students, reading the English-version text book is inevitable and necessary. As a result, we can have the ability in reading, even writing in English, but have difficulty to express ourselves in the right way and in time. I think this program can offer students many chances to enhance their English ability when studying medicine.
Second, if studnets are familiar with using English, they will feel easy when they search for the latest researches or data from the Internet. They don't waste time waiting someone to traslate the articles, and don't miss some important information. Also, it will also useful if the future doctors do experiments with abroad experts. Effective communicating will save much time and money!
Third, after students completing the program, they can have the more chances to practice medicine in other English countries. The students will be more competitive than other medical students in Taiwan because of the specific training.
In a word, the All English Medical Teaching Program is deserved to be carried out. It is of great worth.
